I've tried different brands of contacts and find that the B&L Soflens 38 work best for me. I've been using the B&L Soflens 38 for about 20 years, at which time it was known as Sequence II. Many other brands, even those claiming to have a higher water content than the B&Ls, dry my eyes out after a few hours of wear. The B&Ls are tinted slightly, so they are easy to locate if you happen to drop one in the sink. I wear them for 12-16 hours a day, during which time they remain comfortable. These are 2 week disposables, but I've gone 6 or more weeks on the same pair. For the first 2-4 weeks, vision is perfect, but after that, vision starts to slowly deteriorate, which means it's time to replace the old lenses with a fresh pair. These contacts are very thin and flexible, which makes them comfortable, but they dry quickly when removed from storage case with saline solution, so you need to go from case to your eye fairly quickly. I recall I used to tear the lenses from mishandling, but after some practice you get used to handling them. I highly recommend the B&L Soflens 38.

I bought the Softlens 38 on advice of my eye doctor, because I was curious about different brands. 3 out of 6 lenses folded together on themselves on removal, and stuck together. I'm an experienced lens wearer and have NEVER had a lens tear or stick together in 22 years. No amount of soaking would "unstick" them, and the lenses tore if I tried to peel them apart. That's money down the drain, as far as I'm concerned, because there is no way to get a refund on the torn lenses. I'm going to back to my old brand, as I've never had issues with any of their lenses.

I've worn contacts for about 15 years, and I have never had such terrible contacts as these. I wear there for 10 hrs and when I take them out, they just stick to itself. The are drier than daily wears and these are monthlys. I will never ever buy these again and likely will stay away from this brand. Also, I got the order this month, and 1 pack expires in Aug 2014 and the other pack expires June 2016. Not good. I so disappointed.

Comments about SofLens 38 (Optima FW):

I bought a couple of boxes of these contacts and have been using them for the past year or so. I am very happy with them. They last for more than a month for me without my vision getting cloudy or the contacts becoming uncomfortable after only a few hours of wear. I have had that problem about contacts becoming dry very quickly after I've been using them for a couple of weeks and have not had that problem with these contacts.

My only complaint is that when I was down to my last pair I discovered one of the contacts had a curly/flowery rim which made it impossible to wear as it kept moving around and was very uncomfortable. Obviously it was a defective one but I purchased the lens a while back and the website won't provide me with information as to how I can arrange for an exchange.

Comments about SofLens 38 (Optima FW):

I have been using contact lenses for 25 years and have been using this model for over 15.
For those having issues with lenses folding over, don't blame the contact lense. I've had lenses fold over and its due to mishandling, not a problem with the lense itself.
Not sure how you can blame lenses for irritating your eyes, blame your optician for not fitting the right type of lens for your eye.
The best process I've used over the years for allowing comfortable placement of lens on the eye is to place some saline on the eye and some in the lense before placing it on, so it slides nicely over the eyeball. I use Amo Softlens plus saline as I find that the most comfortable. Even though they are monthly lenses I comfortably use them for 3 or more months.

Comments about SofLens 38 (Optima FW):

I've been wearing contacts for about 23 years and have been wearing SoftLens 38/Optima FW for at least 12 or so. My optometrist has been trying to get me to use a different brand of contact for years (mainly something more oxygen permeable) but SoftLens 38 seem to be the only contact that doesn't bother my eyes or shift when I look around. Other contacts seems to float and move whereas these stay put; I never feel like I'm wearing contacts with these lenses.

I'm surprised by the number of reviews stating that these contacts are prone to getting stuck together. I've only experienced that a few times and every time was due to me handling them improperly. Putting these contacts in is also very easy - it certainly shouldn't take someone 5-10 minutes; I'd guess it takes me about 20-30 seconds as it likely would for most contact wearers. It sounds like some people might not have the correct sizing or perhaps these contacts just don't work for them.

In the 12 years of wearing Optima FWs, I've only torn perhaps two or three contacts, so they seem perfectly durable to me. I replace my contacts about every month.

I have been contact lens wearer for more than 7 years with B&L. I used to B&L 59 ; since they stopped manufacturing i got this prouct in the month of June. The lens where sticking together after removal and having them on case with solution . Apparently caused the tear. I got 6 pairs; now only 1 left in the past 2 months. Dont ever buy this. I want to return this product if possible

The contact lenses I had to take out after less than 3hrs of use as they felt like they were scratching my eyes. In addition to this, I noticed the next day when attempting to use them again that the lense folded over onto itself in my case (yes there was contact solution) and stuck together. The only way to fix this, caused the lense to tear. Very poor quality.

I have been a Bausch & Laomb user for more years than I can count so when my doctor suggested I try Softlens I did not see a problem. Well I couldn't be more wrong. They are incredibly hard to handle and even more difficult to get onto the eye. Where it would take me second to put other B&L in these took a minimum of 5-10 min per eye...sooo frustrating. Think long and hard before using these.
